Q: Is it difficult to move my bookkeeping over to QuickBooks Online?

A: Not at all – and the best part is that The Fifteen Group bookkeeping team will do this for you. The migration is easy for our team, and you won’t lose any of your historical data from your existing books.

Q: Will my data and privacy be secure with QuickBooks Online?

A: Yes – QuickBooks Online utilizes “advanced, industry-recognized security safeguards to keep all of your financial data private and protected. QuickBooks Online is a VeriSign SecuredTM product. VeriSign® is the leading secure sockets layer (SSL) Certificate Authority. With password-protected login, firewall protected servers and the same encryption technology (128 bit SSL) used by the world’s top banks, we have the security elements in place to give you peace of mind.”

Q: What reports will I receive?

A: Our bookkeeping team will send you monthly statements with accompanying notes. If you would like to investigate specific account balances, you can log into QBO and take a look for yourself. As always, your bookkeeper is available to answer any questions.

Q: If a member of my team has access to QuickBooks Online, will they be able to see sensitive data (i.e. payroll data, vendor payments, etc.)?

A: No – each user has their own individual access rights. For example, if you would like a manager to see the vendor statements but not any other information, their login credentials can be limited to reflect that.

Q: How will I receive vendor cheques or payroll cheques?

A: Cheques will be sent as PDFs via email. Simply print them off onsite, no need for couriers.

Q: Will Dext (formerly Receipt Bank) automatically post invoices to my bookkeeping?

A: No – your bookkeeper will review all invoices and receipts uploaded to Dext and will ensure accuracy for anything posted to your bookkeeping.

Q: What is QuickBooks Online?

A: QuickBooks Online is an excellent, comprehensive tool and can provide online access to multiple people in your organization (e.g. Owners, General Managers). Don’t worry about all of your old data either; it can be migrated into the QuickBooks Online version – you won’t miss a beat.

Q: What is Dext (formerly Receipt Bank)?

A: Instead of sending us courier packages with invoices, clients will utilize Dext software to photograph their invoices each day as they come in. The platform allows multiple users to upload invoices and receipts in various ways and is easy to use – invoices can be “scanned” by iPhone photo, scanner, etc.

Q: How do I get set up for digital bookkeeping with The Fifteen Group?

A: Digital Bookkeeping with us is straightforward and simple. Here’s an overview:

  • You will need accounts set up for QuickBooks Online and Dext, which we will walk you through or set up for you.
  • We will then train you on Dext and all the aspects of the digital service.
  • If applicable, we will help you migrate your books from your current platform to QuickBooks Online.
  • Then we will be up and running. It’s that easy.
